Scrolls

The cleric and the paladin have spent the early hours of the morning studying the scrolls that we found in the chest. The one I told you about in the Library.

They contain magic, which is something I don’t know much about. But they seem to think it is as easy as fooling a dwarf with cards (as my brother used to say) and they are very excited about it all.

One of them has something to do with pretending to be a vampire (I think.) I don’t know if this has anything to do with where we are, but it means that you can drain the health from someone you don’t like, whilst getting some health of your own back. Is it a bit like draining blood or pretending to? I don’t really know, but I’m happy to be learning new stuff every day. They seem to think that only Karak can use this one. Something to do with his type of magic. I don’t think it’s because he’s Dragonborn.

The second one helps Holy Men like Bastion or Gorek bless people. I didn’t know a scroll could do that, but they seem really pleased with it. It can help them help other people nearby, making them better at fighting, or better fighting off evil spells, I think. Anyway, they’re rereading it a lot to make sure they understand it.

And the third one is the best of all because it can be used by Bastion, Gorek or Karak. It helps to protect against lots of different dark creatures, makes you harder to get hit, frightened, or possessed by them, or something like that.

So, I’m happy because they seem to be really happy, I just like helping people find lost things.

I get accused of stretching the truth sometimes, (something which I never do), but this Fiery lady, the Chamberlain of the Duchess just admitted that she told a barefaced lie. “I have not been completely honest with you”, (see I told you!) “I do not wish you to guard a wagon train, but rather, rid…
